Fruth Pharmacy

Fruth is a regional chain of pharmacies providing care to patients in West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky. 

Jack Fruth founded the company in 1952 as a single, hometown pharmacy in Point Pleasant, WV. 

Fruth now consists of 29 stores and is growing, but still maintains the values of being

“Your Hometown, Family Pharmacy.” Clinical services offered within Fruth include MTM, immunizations, diabetes management in conjunction with PEIA, wellness events, specialty medication dispensing, pharmacogenetic testing, and point-of-care testing, including blood glucose, A1C, lipids, and hepatitis C/HIV.  Residents will be involved in maintaining, improving, and evaluating existent services, while also creating new initiatives.

Ashton Medical

Ashton Medical Associates, Inc., a family medicine clinic in Charleston, WV and member of Thomas Health System, is comprised of 6 primary care providers offering services to a predominantly adult and insured patient population. Clinical pharmacy services are referral-based and include medication therapy management and/or patient education for diabetes, lifestyle modifications (e.g., diet, physical activity, weight management, tobacco cessation), hypertension, hyperlipidemia, cardiovascular risk reduction, preventative care, transitions of care, polypharmacy, and other miscellaneous consults. The pharmacist also functions as a source of drug information, serves as a liaison for pharmaceutical representatives, aids in resolving medication-related insurance issues, and provides educational inservices to the medical staff. The clinic is a rotation site for medical, physician assistant, and pharmacy students and provides many opportunities for involvement in academia.
